8^th Grade Parents – The link to view the livestream of the Awards Ceremony will be sent in an email directly to 8^th Grade families by the end of the day on Monday, June 9^th.  You may share the link with family members at that time. We expect to begin at 7:45 am on Thursday, June 12th. 

In this week's edition of the Bull's Eye newsletter, please find important information about a change in practice regarding BCPS issued laptops.

As a reminder, the PTA Class T-Shirt sale has been extended through Sunday and the link is embedded in the newsletter. We encourage families with current 5th grade students (rising 6th graders) to purchase the Class of 2032 T-Shirt to wear to the Summer 6th Grade Orientation as well as future Spirit Days. If you've registered your 5th grader for the orientation, you should have received a confirmation email from Mrs. Richardson this week.

In addition to the previously shared Summer Reading Program, you'll find a preview in the newsletter of our Summer iXL Challenge for students currently in grades 6 and 7 (rising 7 and 8).  Students will receive information about this program from their classroom teachers next week.

As the Memorial Day weekend begins, we encourage all members of our community to participate in the BCPS Virtual Mental Health Mile. This is the culminating event for the Mind Over Matters campaign, promoting mental health awareness and physical well-being. We hope that everyone will get active in their own way at some point over the weekend.  Students and families can send photos documenting their participation to their School Counselor via Schoology to be entered into a drawing for a prize that will be awarded later next week. This week, please see an important message for parents of current 6^th and 7^th graders regarding course requests and scheduling for the 2025-26 school year and find the National Junior Honor Society application form.  Students may have received an incomplete attachment previously, but the full application is attached in this week’s Bull’s Eye.
Parents of 8^th graders are reminded about the upcoming 8^th grade dance. Tickets are still available and can be obtained from Ms. Hook in the main lobby. 
Parents who have current 5^th graders planning to HMS next year, are encouraged to Save the Date for our Summer Orientation.
