How are hours earned in class?
Each of the following classes
incorporate 5-10 hour projects that are directly connected to
classroom instruction and meet real community needs.

6th Grade - English, Math,
and Health

7th Grade - Art, Social Studies,
Physical Education

7th or 8th Grade - Family
Studies, Technology Education

8th Grade - Music, Science

9th and10th Grade - Biology,
English 10, Government, Physical Education, Technology Education
What other Opportunities are available
for my child to earn hours?
All students may participate
in independent projects which meet community needs. Most community
projects are direct service, giving students the opportunity for
contact with the population being served.
Some examples of appropriate
independent projects may include:
- membership in school sponsored
clubs
- tutoring younger students
- working in soup kitchens
- raising money for a charitable
cause
- one-on-one interactions with
residents of an assisted living/nursing facility
- working in an animal shelter
- collecting supplies for a
homeless shelter
