GT Art Portfolios

G/T art portfolio help sessions -

in room E3 from 2:00 until 3:30 pm:

October 26th

November 30th

February 22nd

March 22nd

April 7th (portfolios due at this session) see below -

Students will be completing portfolios at the Aril 7th session. They should bring all portfolio materials with them to this session!

Contact any art teacher for a permission slip!

 

Students in any grade may try out for G/T art. Students trying out for G/T art will be required to submit a portfolio of recent artwork. The portfolio requirements are:
  • a drawing, painting, or sculpture of an object from direct observation.
  • a drawing, painting, or sculpture of a figure from direct observation.
  • a drawing, painting, or sculpture of a person, place, or object from imagination.
  • a drawing, painting, or sculpture that shows the students' strengths in art.
  • a sketchbook that shows the students' interest in art over a period of time.

The student artwork pictured here represents portfolio-quality work.

Students interested in trying out for G/T art can obtain an application from any art teacher. Students will have the opportunity to attend after-school help sessions and they will also be given several homework assignments to help add to the sketchbook requirement. All portfolios will be due in early April. Students accepted into the program will be scheduled into a G/T art section for the 2009-2010 school year. please contact Mrs. Peterson with any questions!
